We just celebrated Thanksgiving #1 with my family this weekend and are headed to Stephen’s family soon for #2, so I thought I’d better get our tree up asap!
This year I decided to go neutral and metallic with our decorations. I was able to decorate the whole thing using what we already had plus a can of white spray paint. I took a few of our red ornaments from last year and gave them a quick coat of white.
Here they are in all their snowy white glory!
Aside from the sparkly and neutral filler ornaments, I added a few special ones from over the years. Starting at the top, here is our cross tree topper. We graduated to this one after we retired the little bottle brush tree from our college days.
Happily we converted the previous tree topper into an ornament for lower down the tree.
Here’s another of our favorites – an ornament I made for Stephen for our wedding anniversary last year. It’s assembled from circles cut from our wedding invitations.
I love being able to see our tree from outside the house.
All the people and puppies walking on the trail beside our house will be seeing this view this year.
Next step, buying and wrapping all the gifts to put UNDER that tree! Are you a fan of Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) shopping? I’m typically more of an avoid-the-crowds kind of girl, but with Christmas only about a month away, I think I’ll have to grin and bear them! 🙂
Thanks for visiting and I hope you like our Christmas decor!
