I must have the 100th post crazy-bug, because I can’t believe I’m about to show you these photos of our garage from this weekend!
<<But before I show you the crazy before and afters, I wanted to ask if any of you out there in blogland ever get “down” about your house, your mess, your half-finished projects, or your junk? I know I do, and I’d been feeling especially down the past few weeks. It’s easy to feel that way when you’ve lived in a house for 2 years and you have so much unfinished and so much left to do!
What is with those people who can completely renovate houses in under 6 months? Seriously. Do they not sleep at all?
I hope I’m not the only one who gets a little frustrated with slow progress and who wishes renovating our house could be my day job! Somebody else out there feels this way too, right? 🙂
Anyway, enough with my tangent. It’s time to get back to our weekend project and the embarrassing photos! >>
This is what our garage looked like before lunch on Sunday. This is definitely one of those messes I was feeling “down” about! Gross.
But over the course of 5 hours, we turned it into this!
Quite the improvement, no? I am sooo thankful Stephen suggested we devote our Sunday afternoon to cleaning and organizing our garage! It was outta control!
We started by pulling every. single. thing. out of the garage and making 3 huge piles – SELL, TRASH, and KEEP. Here’s a peek at our driveway about halfway through this process. (Molly is in the “keep” pile, fyi 🙂
After we tossed the junk and organized our stuff to sell, we loaded everything back in the garage. I am loving the organization in there now!
You may be wondering where our “sell” pile ended up. It is currently taking up 1 car space in the garage and will be completely gone after our yard sale in 2 weeks! I am beyond excited to have this accomplishment under our belt.
Thankfully this weekend project helped me feel a little bit better about “the state of things” at Heardmont. Sometimes all it takes is a little spring cleaning to get rid of those winter doldrums!
Psst! If you’ve made it this far, you may have noticed I mentioned something about this being POST 100 at the top of this page. I’m thinking in honor of this occasion it may be time for the very first giveaway at Welcome to Heardmont! What do you think? Any suggestions as to what I should give away? A handmade pillow, curtains, or art? Maybe something I spraypainted? 🙂 Let me know what you think!
