Good morning everybody! Today I’m excited to share the quick changes we made to our mantel to make it a little more festive for the Christmas season.
We kept a lot of the daily mantel decor and spiced it up with little gold Charlie Brown trees, some ornaments, and a couple of reindeer.
I made the blue and brown wreath last Christmas (see the how-to here), but instead of garland and twinkle lights, we opted to keep our blue and green glass on the mantel this year.
We apparently have way more gold ornaments than any other color, so after we were done decorating the tree (pictures to come) a few sparkly gold globes found their way to the top of our glass vases.
I picked up the gold trees a couple of years ago at an after Christmas sale at Hobby Lobby. They were marked way down to 99 cents each!
The little pair of reindeer is from Target. I found them a couple of years ago and they make an appearance every year around this time.
Overall it was a quick and easy update. It seems like every year the colors we use in our Christmas decor have gotten lighter and lighter, and I’m totally embracing blues and greens this year!
How about you? Do you decorate for Christmas in traditional colors or are you going with a different scheme this year?
