Remember that trip Mr. Heard and I took to Kansas City last month? One of the stops on our trip was to Urban Outfitters at The Plaza. While we loved checking out all the UO loot in person, only one piece was lucky enough to come home with us. The winning item? This brassy bear-slash-bottle opener!
It took us a while to decide where we wanted to hang this little guy, and then one day it just dawned on us. Stephen was actually the one to point out that the wood cabinetry above the kitchen trash can would be the perfect place. Um… duh! Why didn’t I think of that? 🙂
Installation was a breeze. Stephen marked the three holes in the bottle opener and then drilled pilot holes.
Then it was as easy as installing one, two, three brass screws!
Here’s our little guy in his new home.
Stephen demonstrates how easy it is to open a bottle of his home brew with this brassy fella. (No, you’re eyes aren’t deceiving you – that bottle IS bigger than normal!)
Since we love a little quirk ’round these parts, I’m thinking of ordering up a little vinyl sign for above our little bear. What do you think of my mock up?
I suppose he could be used for more than just beer, but Beer Bear sure does have a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
Hope you’re having a bright and sunny Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!
