DIY Changing Pad Covers

As I was putting together Libby’s nursery, I sewed two changing pad covers for her dresser. One was light pink and the other was a coral color – both fabrics were Kona solids from JoAnn. I used this tutorialΒ which calls for one piece of 48″x32″ fabric and a yard of elastic, and the process seriously could not have been easier.

The only problem? Around here, we’ve been known to dirty up both covers in one day. (Ah, the joys of parenthood!)

Yesterday I dug through my fabric stash while a certain someone was napping and whipped up three more covers.

As you can see, our cutie pie woke up just in time to try out cover number three. I think she approves!

She is adorable…such a beauty! I know ya’ll are enjoying her…and I am impressed you have any time for DYI…although this sounds like it was a necessity πŸ™‚ Have fun with her, they grow so fast.

  3. I really should have made my own changing covers. I got lazy. But I love that you can make them exactly how you want and have plenty of them. We still sometimes dirty both covers in a day. πŸ˜‰ 2 years later.

Awww, she’s so so tiny! πŸ™‚ I love how all your fabrics coordinate so well with her room and the art above the changing table.

She is so precious!! And what a great idea to make the covers yourself! Boppy makes Changing Pad liners (basically it’s a little white pad that goes on top of your changing pad cover). We loved using these with William because we got a 3 pack, and when we dirtied one we just tossed it into the laundry and pulled another out without dirtying our changing pad cover.
