Brooklyn Closet Crashing

We’re absolutely giddy here at Heardmont because today our little master closet makeover is taking a trip to The Big Apple!

A few weeks ago, Stefanie from Brooklyn Limestone asked us to participate in her Conquered Closets series.  We’re #2 in the lineup, and I can already tell this is a series you won’t want to miss!

Click on over to Brooklyn Limestone (one of my long-time favorites) to see our master closet make its Big Apple debut.

Congrats on your feature! I still really love your amazing closet makeover. =) I feel totally jealous when I walk into my own closet cause I’m thinking about how awesome yours is, hehe.

  5. Such a great closet space – colors and organization take it to a different level. Great idea to add the vertical stripes to add height visually. Amazing! New follower.

Loved the closet post over at Brooklyn Limestone! I’m curious how removing all the popcorn ceiling works…it is all through our house… disastrous, I hate the look of it and would love to rip it out, but I’m too nervous…have you done a post on that?

      Hey Jessica,

I have mentioned popcorn ceiling scraping on the blog before – here’s a post talking about it: (scroll down towards the second half)

But the quick and dirty explanation is to (1) have the popcorn tested for aesbestos or find out if your ceiling would be at risk of having aesbestos in it (2) use a spray bottle of water and a wide (4″) putty knife to soak the ceiling and scrape the texture off (3) come back with spackle and smooth out any areas you messed up while scraping (4) sand and paint!

Hope that helps and GOOD luck if you’re tackling yours. It’s a messy, hard job, but I still think it’s worth it!!

  7. The stripes and tiered bowls for jewelry are just great! We painted thick alternating green stripes in our guest room, and it just makes me smile each day

  8. Found you via Brooklyn Limestone and just wanted to say how totally gorgeous your closet turned out. I totally dig the jewelry storage – fab!

  9. I found your blog through Brooklyn Limestone and absolutely LOVE your closet. As I said over there I am so jealous of all the walk in wardrobes and space that you have. I share a hanging rail in our bedroom with my boyfriend.

Thanks for sharing, I have picked up some good ideas for when we tackle the bedroom.

  10. Hi Meredith! I just found your blog and I love it! I just randomly found it thru a commenter on my blog and I came over to visit! I will be back to go thru your archives! Wishing you a wonderful day! Angie xo
