Weekend Yard Work

Hi Everybody!

Did you enjoy your weekend? It seemed like everyone and their dog was outside doing yard work this weekend, and the weather was perfect for it!  We took advantage of the sunshine and great temps by starting to clear out the forest at the front half of our lot.  After two days of raking, chopping, weeding, and wood chipping, here’s what we had to show for our work.

I’m currently in a battle of wills with our city yard waste department over whether they will or will not take our bagged and bundled yard waste. One side tells me there’s a limit of 10 bags per pickup and the other says there’s absolutely no limit. As far as I’m concerned, we pay for this service so the bags darn well better get picked up soon! 🙂

I’m looking forward to showing you the changes we’ve made to our yard recently.  It looks quite a bit different than the day we closed on our house almost exactly 3 years ago.

Were you one of the millions of homeowners bringing your yard back to life this weekend?  How did it go?

Lots of work but it feels so good to have it done!

  2. Casey says:

if you leave it out there it’ll get picked up eventually!

  3. That’s a LOT of work you finished! I hope the trashmen take everything! It snowed ALL day on Saturday and some on Sunday, so no yard work here…. I’ll live vicariously through you until our weather improves. 🙂

You were not alone. We spent some much need time raking and cleaning up the yard. Sunday was family day hiking at a state park.

  5. Dang, that is a LOT of yard waste! We have a similar battle going with our city bulk trash pick up. So all of our trash is sitting in the back of the pickup truck . . . I think we’re losing this battle.

That’s a LOT of work! Are you sore or what? I must be honest, I don’t care for yard work. I have found a nice company that will trim and lay down some pine needles for cheap. They are my go to fix for Spring.

  7. We worked in our yard for hours on Saturday… and for a few days before then, too!! We’re having to pay extra attention to ours this year since we’ll have a wedding out there on Saturday. And if I do say so myself, it’s looking pretty fantastic 🙂
