Dallas Weekend Recap

We’re having one of those dreary wet days like I hear the rest of the country is having today.

This kind of weather always reminds me of scenes from one of my favorite movies.

It definitely does NOT remind me of the gorgeous weather mom and I had on our trip to Dallas this weekend!  Our hotel was great…

the (free) food was amazing…

but, by far, the highlight of our trip was IKEA!

I think we spent a total of 10-12 hours in that place over two days, and we had a blast!

We had lunch there twice (amazing, both times).

(I need to learn how to make those potato cakes)

By the end of the first day, our cart and flatbed were loaded up.

We surprised ourselves on Day 2 by finding lots of things we missed on our first time through.  Thankfully it all fit in the SUV. 🙂

I’m looking forward to sharing all the goodies we found on our trip, including some of the last to-gets on our bathroom to-do list!

I hope this Monday finds you happy and healthy.  Thanks for reading.

I can not believe you fit all of that in your car – amazing. I’m sure trying to navigate the shopping cart with that giant rug was fun, ha. Looking forward to seeing your new stuff displayed on the blog.

Yay! I wish I could have gone with you! IKEA is home away from home for all Swedes living abroad. I knew you would love it! I can’t wait to see what all you got. I think it is about time I come see you at your place and get to visit the Heardmont in real life. Let me know when would be good for you.

  10. I went to that IKEA when I visited Dallas in 2006. We have one about an hour away and I don’t go there enough. I have a list a mile long so I’m trying to save up some coins before going. One year my mom, my daughter (I think she was about 9 then) and I spent my birthday there. My parents are from Sweden so it makes it extra special for my family. My mom makes a pilgrimage there every November to get some goodies. Serious food shopping that day.
